I love destination experts. In fact, I collect them!
Often in the travel industry, the destination “expert” title is abused. This is why I don’t use it, however, if you are looking for a “destination expert”, I suggest this course of action:
Call another travel professional and ask them your questions. Then, call and ask me. Most of the time, my destination knowledge exceeds most of the so-called “destination experts”.
When looking for a travel consultant, look for somebody who listens to you carefully. And who is also well connected in the travel industry.
General Travel is more about what you know. Luxury Travel Planning is just that and is also about who you know.
This is why I maintain personal relationships with true destination experts and with industry programs aimed at delivering peak service to the luxury traveler.
